A lifelong New Yorker, Dave Attell graduated from NYU’s film school and promptly entered the stand up scene in the late 80s. He steadily worked his way up from open mic nights to regular club spots to touring across the country as a national headliner. Currently, Attell is the creator and host of the hit series Dave’s Old Porn, which airs on Showtime. Entertainment Weekly named Attell one of the ’25 Funniest People in America.’ In 2001, Attell created and hosted the acclaimed Insomniac with Dave Attell series, which aired on Comedy Central. The show followed Attell as he traveled to different cities seeking late-night entertainment. Attell described the series as Girls Gone Wild meets Cops. The Insomniac show ran for four seasons, which was followed by multiple hour-long Insomniac specials, where Attell traveled overseas to Brazil, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Japan. As a stand up, Attell continued to tour across America, embarking on a 35-city tour of theaters, which culminated in a two-hour Comedy Central stand up special in Las Vegas. This show also featured comedians Greg Giraldo, Sean Rouse, and Dane Cook. Attell has appeared on all of the top late-night shows, including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, The Late Show with David Letterman, Howard Stern, and Last Call with Carson Daly. Attell also landed his own half-hour Comedy Central Presents special. A comedic actor, Attell has appeared in the hit Arrested Development on FOX, Ed on NBC, and the cult favorite PootieTang with Chris Rock. Attell can be seen regularly at the Comedy Cellar and Stand Up NY.
